Artist Crush: Elizabeth Lecourt

Thursday, April 11, 2013 · 2 Comments

Elizabeth Lecourt’s exquisite series Les Robes Géographiques. The artist is based in London.

The artist’s statement reads, “Sensitivity and vulnerability are the main subjects in the work of the artist Elisabeth Lecourt… The feminine figure is seen like the spine of her house, like an essential component of this particular world…” I’d add that, specific to Les Robes Géographiques, there’s also a feminine rigidity, a perfectionism and purity that is absolutely beautiful but would evidently stifle the person filling that role.
